The diploma covers core management skills and also provides more rounded information on business accounting and law, communication and leadership skills, as well as Microsoft Office training. You’ll work through a number of practical tools, which will leave you with the skills and confidence to return to your workplace confident in your ability to meet your new challenge. As well as the core courses, you can choose two further courses, allowing you to pursue any particular interests.

Although the work of an Office Manager differs greatly across organisations, they all have the responsibility for ensuring that their office runs efficiently. This is no easy task, so if you want to take on this demanding and challenging role, you’ll need the right skills for the job.

Our Office Manager Diploma is designed to equip you with everything you need to manage a diverse range of tasks including interviewing, inductions, managing payroll and the superior communication skills needed to deal effectively with every department or staff member. You’ll learn great IT software skills, computer keyboard techniques, principles of effective HR, book-keeping and the option to add two elective courses in the areas of numeric data entry, Speed Writing, Sage, Costing and Pricing and Payroll to name just a few.

Anyone who leads a project, no matter the size, should possess high-level project management skills. This Project Management Diploma has been created to help you learn to manage a project successfully through its initiation, planning, progression and closure. As well as this you will develop other skills such as leadership, communication, risk management and financial management. Once you have successfully completed your Diploma you will receive a globally recognised Pitman Training certification.

You will also be well placed to go on and undertake the PRINCE2® Foundation examination* should you wish to.

The Business Award has been created for people who need to understand the legal structures and financial mechanics of business.

The award has been designed particularly for those with work experience, but not necessarily in a commercial office setting – it could be from the retail and service industries or the public sector.
As Microsoft Excel is used extensively in finance administration, this course will also give you the knowledge and confidence to use spreadsheets to a good working standard.

Having completed this award, you can be confident that prospective employers will have evidence that you have a practical understanding of business structure and law as well as business accounts, which other candidates may not possess.

It is also helpful for individuals who may be considering setting up their own business.
The award takes 42 hours – you can start when you like and our flexible learning system means you can fit your studying around your existing work and home commitments. There will also be a course advisor on hand to help should you need additional support.
